What is Hojicha tea powder?
Hōjicha literally means "roasted tea" in Japanese. During production, green tea leaves are roasted at high temperature, which reduces bitterness, gives the tea its distinctive golden-brown colour and characteristic smoky flavour. It also reduces caffeine content to 7–20 mg per cup (250 ml), a much lower level than coffee or regular tea.
