4 steps to soothe redness on your face

4 Steps to Soothe Redness on Your Face

If you're one of those people who experience small redness on your face, the term rosacea is probably not entirely unfamiliar to you.

Rosacea is defined as a chronic condition that affects the skin and, in some cases, the eyes. It causes redness in certain areas of the skin, especially on the face. It's more commonly observed in women, particularly those with fair skin. This condition can lead to small pimples and, in some cases, wounds due to the urge to touch and squeeze them.

But don't be alarmed by the term "chronic condition." Rosacea is a skin condition that is easily manageable, and in many cases, it manifests due to external triggers that we can control.

So, let's get to work with four simple steps to calm the redness on your face.

1. Cleanliness Comes First.

Even though rosacea itself isn't necessarily associated with poor cleanliness, it's essential for your skin to be in a perfect state of cleanliness to be treated effectively.

For cleansing rosacea-prone skin, it's best to use soap-free cleansers. For example, Aleppo soap can be very beneficial for this skin type. You can also try natural cleansing milks, ensuring you provide gentle hygiene to your face.

2. After Cleansing, Tone!

The best way to tone this type of skin is by using floral waters. Don't worry; you don't need to go to a park to perform a ritual. You can easily find them in cosmetic and skincare stores, and even in supermarkets.

If, on the other hand, you prefer to connect with nature and make your rosewater, you'll only need the petals of two fresh roses and 475 ml of distilled water.

3. Hydrate, Always Hydrate.

For rosacea-prone skin, hydration with oils rich in fatty acids like olive, almond, argan, or jojoba will help alleviate redness. Although it might seem appropriate, rosehip oil could irritate the skin, so it's best to avoid it.

4. Treatments.

The first four steps should be part of your daily routine as they are crucial for healthy facial care. Additionally, periodically but not daily, you should apply some type of special treatment.

One of the best natural treatments for rosacea is the topical application of matcha tea. For this purpose, we recommend making your **matcha mask** with ingredients that we're sure you have at home.

For an anti-redness and anti-aging matcha mask, you'll need:

- Honey
- 100% organic and ceremonial grade matcha tea
- Lemon juice

Mix these three ingredients in the right proportions to achieve a suitable mask consistency (not too liquid or too thick). You'll have a perfect treatment for skin redness. Apply it, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, and remove it with a cotton pad soaked in lukewarm water. If you repeat this ritual about three times a week, you'll soon notice excellent results.

As you can see, with minimal daily and weekly routines, rosacea and other redness issues like couperose can be minimized so you can regain the confidence you deserve.
