warm-up takes longer than the actual workout and I'm at peace with it
Right so I did a proper yoga flow this morning and I always forget how much the warm-up matters until I skip it and my hips are screaming at me for two days after.
Basically what's been working for me lately — 5 minutes of just moving. Not stretching cold, not holding anything. Cat-cow, slow spinal rolls, hip circles. Nothing fancy. Then I'll do a few sun salutations but slow, like actually slow, not rushing to get to the "real" bit.
The difference honestly is mad. When I skip this and go straight into deeper poses my body just doesn't cooperate and I end up frustrated. When I do it I feel way more mobile by the end.
I'm not a PT or anything so I can't tell you the science behind it — I just know it works for me. Chai usually wanders over and sniffs my face during cat-cow which is. not helpful. but also kind of the highlight of my morning ngl 💚
