the pre-training food thing is still confusing me tbh

Right so I've posted about pre-comp eating before but that's a totally different beast. I mean day-to-day, normal Tuesday night WOD — I still get it wrong sometimes. Today I ate too late before training. Like 45 minutes out, had a proper meal, and I paid for it during the AMRAP. Felt heavy and a bit grim honestly. Couldn't push the way I wanted to. The frustrating thing is I *know* better. Two hours minimum, something light, sorted. But life gets in the way and you eat when you can. To be fair it's not always fixable — sometimes work runs over and that's just it. I've been experimenting with just having my matcha and a banana about an hour out when I don't have time for a real meal and that actually does the job for me. Keeps me from bonking without the heaviness. But I'm still figuring out what actually works consistently, mind you. It's not a solved problem.

what did you actually eat, the 45 minutes out bit or the meal itself?

two hours is the sweet spot aye, anything less and you feel it — does the timing shift much for you on evening sessions vs morning ones?

yeah the 45 min thing gets me every time, had a really rough session last month because of this exact situation. ended up just eating a banana next time and honestly felt so much better for it
