the one thing that actually helped my skin this summer
Right so every summer I fall into the same trap — I keep using the same moisturiser I used all winter and then wonder why my face feels like a glazed doughnut by 11am. This year I just... stopped. Stripped it all back. Honestly the biggest difference came from switching to a lighter SPF moisturiser (combined, not layered) and just drinking a lot more water throughout the day. Dead simple. Nothing groundbreaking.
Mind you I also noticed my skin was reacting more to heat in general — I've had some redness around my cheeks that I don't normally get. Not sure if that's hormonal or just the Manchester weather actually behaving for once lol. I mentioned it to my GP just to be safe tbh, because with skin stuff I always think it's worth getting it checked rather than just assuming it's seasonal. But yeah — lighter products, more water, sunscreen every single day even when it's cloudy. That's genuinely it for me this year.
