skipped the warm-up once too often

Right so I've been properly guilty of this — clip in, go hard straight away, especially on early morning rides when I'm already running late. Paid for it last week, tight hip flexors the whole climb and my cadence was all over the place. Took me an embarrassingly long time to actually commit to even 8-10 minutes easy spinning before I push anything. As a pharmacist I know the physiology, synovial fluid, muscle temp, all of it — and I was still skipping it because I thought I was too pressed for time. Classic. Honestly the difference in how the first 20 minutes of a ride feels is not subtle. Knees especially, which matters to me given I'm already on collagen. Warm-up isn't recovery, it's just... part of the session. Took me ages to actually treat it that way.

done this too many times running. never learn until something hurts

boxing taught me that — two rounds skipping before I touch the bag, every single time without fail now

two rounds skipping sounds dead efficient tbh — do you eat anything before or just go straight in?

yeah exactly — took a decent hamstring strain last autumn to finally get me doing it properly. annoying that it takes something going wrong before you actually change the habit
