ok so the warm-up thing clicked for me finally

Went for a run this morning and actually timed my warm-up properly for once. Not just a few arm circles and hoping for the best. Basically I've been doing 8 minutes of proper dynamic work before anything else — leg swings, hip circles, a bit of a slow jog building up — and the difference in how my legs feel at the 10-minute mark is genuinely mad. Like they just... respond. No that weird wooden feeling for the first kilometre. I think the thing is your muscles aren't just cold, your nervous system needs to wake up too. The trick is not rushing it. I used to think I was wasting time but honestly those 8 minutes probably save me from a grumpy hip flexor for three days after. Still not fully consistent with it mind. Some mornings it's 4 minutes and a prayer. But when I do it properly I can tell.

8 mins is the sweet spot tbh

I used to do like 5 and thought that was fine, 8 does seem to be where it actually makes a difference

yeah same, I was doing 5 for ages and convincing myself it was enough. took me way too long to actually test the difference properly

what does your slow jog bit look like — are you keeping it really easy or building pace through it?
