my skin is throwing a tantrum and honestly fair enough

Every year without fail. September hits and my face just... decides it's done. The bit around my nose goes dry and flaky, my cheeks feel tight by 3pm, and then somehow I'm also getting spots like it's 2004. Both at once. Great. I don't really have a proper skincare routine, I'll be honest — more like a series of things I've panic-bought over the years that live in my bathroom cabinet. But the one thing that's actually helped with seasonal transitions is just going back to basics. Richer moisturiser at night, an actual oil (I use rosehip, nothing fancy), and — this sounds so obvious but I forget every year — drinking more. Not in the fun way. Water. I've started keeping my flask at my desk filled with warm water and matcha in the morning and it's the only reason I drink anything before noon. My skin does seem less... angry when I'm actually hydrated. Can't prove causation obviously but the correlation is there. The heating coming back on is the real enemy tbh. Office air conditioning in summer, then central heating in winter — skin doesn't stand a chance.

September does the same to me every year, took me ages to realise I just needed to switch to something heavier around this time

salt water wrecks my skin this time of year, proper tight and flaky by october. collagen in my morning drink helped a bit but honestly I'm not fully sure if that's placebo
