legs are knackered and I'm eating cheese on toast again

Went for a longer walk than planned on Sunday — ended up doing about 8 miles round Ilkley Moor because Dave refused to turn back and I didn't want to be the one who cracked first. Anyway. Came home absolutely done. And I'll be honest, all my good intentions about recovery food went straight out the window. I had cheese on toast. Twice. I know eggs are supposed to be the thing. I know protein matters. But sometimes your legs are like lead and you cannot be bothered and the grill is right there. To be fair I did have a banana at some point. That counts.

do you ever blend the cheese into anything or is it strictly on toast

cheese on toast actually has a decent protein-to-carb ratio for recovery — not the villain you'd think

yeah honestly the cheese does more work than people give it credit for, casein protein so it digests slower too — not the worst shout after a long one

didn't know that about casein, always assumed cottage cheese was the go-to for slow release
